Baileys' Wine

Baileys of Glenrowan Shiraz - 2008

Bottle Size: 750ml

Beautifully aromatic with luscious flavours and a generous mouthfeel, the 2006 Baileys of Glenrowan Shiraz is an exciting addition to the winery’s portfolio. Deep purplish red in hue, the wine is softly threaded with fine tannins and subtle oak influences. Rich tones of cassis, chocolate, ripe berry and plum with hints of cherry, tobacco and spice on the nose create a superlative wine with a medium- to full-bodied palate.

Vinification

The wine was crafted using traditional techniques, fermented in stainless steel vessels and held on skins for approximately one week.  During the fermentation process, the must was pumped over and cooled to maximise the colour, flavour, tannin and aroma, resulting in a generous, rich wine.  After fermentation was complete, the wine was matured in a combination of seasoned and new American and French oak for 12 months prior to bottling. This wine was blended and bottled to produce a classic Australian Shiraz.  The wine is intended to offer delicious drinking now, in its youth, as well as having the traditional Baileys ability to age for at least a decade.

Suggested Food

Moroccan lamb tagine or slow-cooked beef and shiraz pot pie.

Cellaring

Will continue to reward with careful cellaring over the next decade.
